The New Yorker says that this cover is a lampoon of how right-wing critics have been portraying the Obamas. I get satire. A lot of people do. Obama’s camp said that “most readers” wouldn’t get it. But the readers of The New Yorker aren’t most Americans. They’re smarter than the average bear, aren’t they? They’ll get it, won’t they?
